Description

Communications Associate (CoAs) helps channel the voice and public image of SPEAKHIRE. The CoAs gathers pertinent information from within the organization or relevant external information to our mission, and communicates relevant and necessary information through various channels to various audiences to help promote the work of SPEAKHIRE. The CoAs also assists in developing and implementing our social media strategy to increase our followers on all of our social media and to engage them across channels, ultimately having them interact with us to build our network, further our reach, or identify funding opportunities that help us sustain our work. Part of the responsibilities will include reaching out to individuals whom we can highlight through our social media, and possibly our monthly outreach efforts to different audiences, getting their buy-in to be highlighted and to join our growing network of women and supporters.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or pursued degree in relevant area

• 2 years of experience in communications/social media preferred

• Mailchimp or newsletter experience preferred

• Strong understanding and familiarity of social media channels and experience creating a strategy to grow audience numbers and a content story

• Start-up and nonprofit experience a plus

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details

• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for SPEAKHIRE’s mission

• Highly organized and motivated.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

• Ability to work a flexible schedule
